What is KYC verification?

KYC (Know Your Customer) is a standard security process that verifies your business identity to prevent fraud and ensure secure payments. It’s part of the anti-money laundering regulations that payment providers need to understand who they are paying out to. At ResQ Club, we rely on Adyen for our payment processing.

Below, we've gathered some frequently asked questions about KYC to help you out.


Why do you need this information?

European regulations require payment providers to verify business identities for anti-money laundering compliance. This protects all merchants and keeps the financial system secure.

What documents exactly do I need to prepare?

You will need to prepare three main documents, including:

  • Your company registration document

  • Decision-maker(s)’s photo ID document, i.e Driver's license, Passport

  • Bank document

A decision-maker could be the owner(s) holding 25% or more of your company. If there are not any owners holding 25% or more, then please specify all controlling persons. Also at least 1 signatory.

However, if one person owns 25% or more of the company, works as a controlling person as well as being the signatory of the company, you will only need to upload that specific person’s ID documents.

Bank document could be one the following documents

  • Bank statement, Deposit slip, Official email or letter from your bank, check. These must meet below criteria,

    • Bank account must be in your company's name

    • Includes your account number or IBAN

    • Includes the country/region of the bank account

    • Includes the bank logo, bank name, or bank-specific font

    • Issued in the last 12 months

    • Includes a bank stamp or signature (for Deposit Slip, bank email or letter only)

  • Screenshot of online banking environment

    • Bank account must be in your company's name

    • Includes your account number or IBAN

    • Includes the country/region of the bank account

    • Includes the bank logo, bank name, or bank-specific font

Who is Adyen, and why are we using them for KYC?

Adyen is a global financial technology platform headquartered in the Netherlands and listed on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange. Known for its strong regulatory compliance and scalable infrastructure, Adyen serves businesses worldwide with secure and efficient payment and identity verification solutions.

We use Adyen as our payments service provider and KYC (Know Your Customer) partner because of their proven ability to handle complex regulatory requirements while supporting seamless customer onboarding. Adyen is also authorized to operate across the EU, including Finland, under the EU passporting framework for financial services.

Is my personal data safe with Adyen?

Yes. Adyen follows strict international data protection standards, including GDPR, and adheres to the payment card industry security standards (PCI DSS) for secure data handling. All personal information is encrypted and processed in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring that your data remains protected throughout the KYC process.

What languages are available during the KYC process?

The KYC process is available in English, Finnish, Swedish, Estonian, and many other languages. If your preferred language isn’t immediately visible, scroll to the bottom of the page where you can select your preferred language.

After submitting all documents, why does the status still show “In Review”?


Once you submit your documents, Adyen’s system will review them, which may take 24 to 48 hours. If the verification fails, feel free to contact us to understand what needs to be corrected. In some cases, we may also reach out to offer further assistance.

What if I’m not a citizen of the country where my business is located?

If your passport was issued outside of Europe, we recommend uploading a proof of residence. Alternatively, you can upload an additional photo ID issued by your country of residence (e.g., driver’s license or local ID card). Please ensure that all uploaded documents are clear and legible, without overexposure, glare, or being partially blocked (e.g., by a finger).

Will there be any service interruptions?

No, your current payment service will continue until the new system is activated.

Will this affect my commission or payout schedule?

No, everything will remain the same.

If I have a new IBAN for payouts, what should I do?

Please enter your new IBAN during the KYC process. If your KYC has already been completed, contact us directly and we will manually update your IBAN in our system.

What should I do if my business information fails to verify?

If your business information cannot be verified, you will see a status labeled “Unsuccessful

🔍 Please follow these steps:

  1. Click the error message shown on the page — it will guide you to a detailed explanation.

  2. Review the reason for the failure. Common causes include:

    • A mismatch between the legal business name and the name on your bank statement

    • Incorrect or incomplete business registration details

    • Choosing the wrong business type during setup (e.g., selecting “Company” instead of “Sole Proprietorship”)

  3. Make the necessary corrections based on the explanation provided.

  4. Re-submit the updated information for verification.

Different Errors and How to Resolve Them

❓ If your business is registered as a Toiminimi, but you mistakenly selected “Company” and chose “Oy”

  1. Go back to the very first page of the KYC flow – the “Set up your account” page (the one you land on after jumping from ResQ Partner App).

  2. Click the pencil icon to edit your selection.

  3. Select the correct option: “Sole proprietorship.”

    🔄 Note: After making this correction, you may be required to fill in your details again, such as personal information and business details.

If your business is a Partnership or Association, such as Ky, Kb, or Ay (Avoin Yhtiö), and you selected the wrong business type

  1. Go back to the "Set up your account" page (this is the very first screen you land after jumping from ResQ Partner App)

  2. Click the pencil icon to edit your business type selection.

  3. Select the fourth option: “Partnership or association.”

  4. On the next page, if your business is an Ay (Avoin Yhtiö), make sure to select “Incorporated association.”


    🔄 Note: After making this correction, you may need to fill in your details again, including company and personal information.

❓ If your business is a non-profit organization (e.g., Ry, Rf) or a governmental entity (e.g., municipality-run café), but you selected “Private Company (Oy)”

  1. On the KYC homepage, click the error message related to your business verification.

  2. In the “Company Structure” section, click the pencil icon to edit your selection.

  3. Re-select the correct Company Structure based on your official company registry classification.


    🔄 Note: After correcting the company type, you may need to re-enter your company and personal details.

❓ If you accidentally made a spelling error, or entered your Trading name / Doing Business As name in the “Business legal name” field


To correct it:

  1. Click the pencil icon next to the error message.

  2. Enter the correct Business legal name, exactly as it appears in your official business registry (e.g., from PRH or Virre).

    ⚠️ Do not include extra information in this field.
    ✅ For example, write only: ABC Oy
    ❌ Avoid: ABC Oy / Good View Bar or similar combinations.

What should I do when the decision-makers' verification has failed?

If the decision-maker’s identity fails to verify, follow these steps:

  1. Click the error message to view the reason for the failure.

  2. Common reasons include:

    • Spelling mistakes in the name.

    • Incorrect date of birth.

    • Missing or incorrect personal ID / social security number.

    • The name not matching public registry data (especially for registered company representatives).

  3. After identifying the issue:

    • Click the pencil icon to edit the decision-maker’s details.

    • Make corrections as needed.

    • Double-check against official documents or the PRH registry to ensure accuracy.


    • If your ID document image was incomplete, always check back and make sure:

      1. The document is legally issued from the country of your residence and within the validity. If you hold a foreign passport, always remember to attach a proof of residence, which is also valid or issued within last 12 months, such as:

        1. Valid Residence Permit

        2. Mortgage statement

        3. Certificate of voter registration

        4. Registration document

    • The document is a first-hand copy of the document, nor a screenshot or a repeated copy of a document.

    • The document is clearly visible, not blocked by finger, nor with strong shadow / glare.

    💡 Tip: If the decision-maker is also the owner and authorized signatory, ensure all roles are correctly assigned and ticked accordingly. This avoids redundant uploads.


    Once updated, submit the information again for verification.

What should I do when the bank information has failed to verify?

This issue can also occur if the Business Legal Name you entered does not match the name shown on your bank statement. Please go back and double-check that the names are exactly the same.


Acceptable documents include:

  • Bank statements

  • Deposit tickets or deposit forms

  • Screenshots of online banking environment

  • Official letter from bank

  • Cheques

Bank documents must meet below requirement:

  • The account holder name. This must match your legal entity name.

  • The account number or IBAN needs to be visible.

  • The date of issuance needs to be visible and needs to be dated less than 12 months ago. This requirement applies to all types of documents

  • The date of issuance for these must also be less than 12 months ago.

  • The country/region where the bank account is located.

  • An indicator that the document was issued by a bank, such as the bank logo or the bank name in its bank-specific font.

It is not a requirement to include any other information, such as bank account balance, transactional details. And you may, of course, cover any unnecessary details if you wish.

What is a registration number / registration document and where can I get it?

🇫🇮 Please note that this instruction applies to companies registered in Finland.

A company registration number (or registration document) is an official document, such as a trade register extract (kaupparekisteriote), which also includes the company’s registration number (Business ID).

The document contains all the basic information about the company, such as its name, Business ID, address, legal form, and registration date.

You can get this information and your company’s trade register extract (kaupparekisteriote) free of charge via the Virre Information Service by searching with your company name or Business ID in the company search.
